The big hit of the evening was the scooter! Vanya carefully watched as his new friend showed him how it worked. It took him some time, but he was diligent about succeeding. After his friend left, Vanya kept playing with the scooter until he could at least get the second foot off the ground. As of Sat. morning, he was practicing again with Tim outside.
An interesting note from Thursday night is that Tim showed him some sidewalk chalk (again provided by our neighbors-- thank you!!) and how to use it. He wrote "Ivan" and drew a smiley face. Vanya then picked up the chalk and wrote the word, "chalk!" I had gone into the house for water and didn't see this, but Tim says he wrote it very quickly; he doesn't think Vanya looked at the box. Quick learner?????

Kathy & Tim,
You guys have been BUSY! But it looks like you've been having a BLAST! I'm glad your dinner went well. Ivan looks very handsome with his new haircut! Notice I said "handsome"...my boys don't like me saying "cute"!
I showed third born, his pic on the blog...he thought that was very cool! They'll have to get together again soon.

P.S.
Happy B-day Tim! Let me guess which was your favorite card?
Tracy and Tim, it's been really fun to read your adventures on these pages. Blogs are so great for sharing these experiences. It was relatively 'new' technology when we were in China in 2006, but who can keep up?
Peace and blessings upon you both and Ivan.
